Description

Solar and a heat pump, in one cylinder.

The Mastersol MSHb: it is a closed-circuit solar water heater cylinder, to replace the cylinder of an old solar water heater. According to the manufacturer it fits most solar water heaters on the market; ask us about yours. It is triple energy: it is heated by the solar collectors through the jacket, by a 3.5 kW electric heating element, and by a heat pump or a boiler through a 1″ coil. The coil is 2 mm DC pipe with an enamel coating (DIN 4753-3) and has a large cross-section, as a heat pump needs.

Coil and tank are built as one unit. According to the manufacturer, this way the tank works in harmony with the heat exchanger, electrolysis is reduced because there are no different metals (copper or stainless steel), and the flange stays free for servicing and changing the anode.

The Bayer Duro Glass enamel is black, fired at 850 °C to DIN 4753-3 and safe for public health (DIN 51032, EN 1388-2). Every cylinder is pressure tested at 15 bar. Being closed circuit and running on antifreeze, it withstands down to −47 °C. The jacket covers 80% of its length.

The tank is 2.5 mm European 1204 V.E. steel, MAG welded, with 5 cm rigid polyurethane insulation, heavy-duty brass connections and a magnesium anode (EN 12438). The outer casing is pre-painted galvanised sheet, 0.5 mm, or magnetic stainless steel.

Will it fit my old solar water heater?

What does closed circuit mean?

That the domestic water does not pass through the collectors. Antifreeze flows through the collectors and the jacket, which is why the cylinder withstands down to −47 °C.

Is the electric heating element included?

Yes, a 3.5 kW element, Φ140 with 8 holes.

Why for a heat pump?

Because its coil has a large cross-section, which according to the manufacturer a heat pump needs to run properly. It also connects to a central heating boiler.

Is there WiFi?

As a product option there is a WiFi module for remote control of the solar water heater.

What warranty does it have?

5 years, or 10 years with the warranty extension kit. Ask us for the terms.

How is it delivered?

Collect it from our shop in Patras, or we send it by carrier. The shipping cost shows in the cart; if it does not show for your area or size, call us for the delivery cost. A plumber installs it; we can suggest a partner in your area.
