A fan coil is the terminal unit of a hydronic system that both heats and cools. Hot or chilled water flows through its coil while a fan draws room air across it. It is most often paired with an air-to-water heat pump: in winter it delivers heat even with low temperature water, where a conventional radiator would have to be much larger, and in summer it cools with chilled water. It also works with a boiler, for heating only. This category has Bravair Clima and PHNIX fan coils: floor-standing, including 13 cm slim units, split-type wall-mounted and concealed ceiling units.

How to choose

  • Installation type: floor-standing units low on the wall, like a radiator; split-type units high on the wall; concealed units inside a false ceiling.
  • Output at your system temperature: a fan coil's output depends on water temperature; with a heat pump, compare the heating output at the lowest temperature each model lists.
  • Depth: 13 cm slim models fit under windows and into tight spots.
  • Condensate: in cooling mode a fan coil produces water, so every unit needs a drain connection.
  • Controls: each model's page shows what it includes and what you can add, such as a remote control or a wired thermostat.

Fan coil units are part of a system and are chosen together with their heat source. In a heating study, with a free initial assessment, we can size the units for each room together with the heat pump. Call us on +30 2610 334 389; installation can be carried out by one of our partners.
