Air Conditioning
A wall-mounted split air conditioner has an indoor unit on the room wall and an outdoor unit, linked by refrigerant pipes. In summer it removes heat from the room, and in winter it works as an air-to-air heat pump for heating. In inverter air conditioners the compressor varies its speed with the load, so the temperature stays steady without constant switching on and off. This category offers TCL wall-mounted air conditioners from the Elite Premium III range.
How to choose
- Capacity in BTU/h: the number in the model code (e.g. 09 or 12) usually shows thousands of BTU/h. An undersized unit runs flat out, while an oversized one cycles needlessly.
- The room: besides floor area, insulation, orientation, glazing and floor level all count.
- Heating: if you will use it in winter too, check heating capacity, not just cooling.
- Noise: for a bedroom, compare indoor unit sound levels at low fan speed.
- Outdoor unit: it needs a ventilated spot, a way to drain condensate and a sensible distance from the indoor unit.
- Smartphone control: check in the specifications whether Wi-Fi is built in or needs an add-on module.
To work out the BTU you need, or whether a heat pump with fan coil units would suit you instead, call us on 2610 334 389 or visit our shop at 171 Ag. Ioanni Pratsika St, Patras. An air conditioner must be installed by a certified refrigeration technician; ask us about that too.
