Solar water heaters

A thermosiphon solar water heater is the simplest way to get hot water from the sun. The collectors heat the fluid in a closed circuit, which rises naturally to the tank mounted above them and passes its heat to the domestic water, with no pump and no electronics. Every solar water heater in this category is made by Mastersol, our own solar brand, with selective collectors and dual or triple energy tanks.

The ranges

• ECO (Glass/Ral): the classic range, suitable for most homes.
• Plus WiFi: with built-in Wi-Fi.
• Low Profile: a lower build for roofs where the heater should stay discreet.
• Horizontal: for positions that suit a horizontal layout.
• HP heat pump models: for homes with a heat pump, which connects to the tank as a second source.

How to choose

• Tank size: start from the number of people and their habits; a household with several showers a day needs a larger tank.
• Collector area: the same tank is often offered with different collector areas; a larger area helps in winter and in partly shaded spots.
• Dual or triple energy: dual energy backs up the sun with an electric element; triple energy adds a heat exchanger for your boiler or heat pump.
• Mounting position: flat roof or tiled roof, facing south and clear of shade from nearby buildings or trees.
• Maintenance: with hard water, checking the magnesium anode regularly protects the tank.
