Biomass boilers burn solid fuels such as olive pit and pellet, which usually cost less than heating oil. In automatic-feed boilers an auger moves the fuel from the silo into the combustion chamber, and the boiler runs on a thermostat, just like an oil boiler.
The Werstahl Hercules HS series, from our own brand, burns olive pit, pellet and coal, and firewood with the wood grate; the larger models also accept oil or gas.
