With a WiFi controller, key functions of your heating and hot water can be managed from your phone, at home or away. You can, for example, switch on the electric element of your hot water cylinder or solar water heater shortly before you get home instead of leaving it on for no reason, or adjust the room temperature remotely. This category includes the Prosmart controllers: the BBoil, for temperature and electric element control, and the BBoil-RF, which controls devices and temperature together with a room thermostat.

How to choose

• What you want to control: if you are mainly interested in the electric element for your hot water, the BBoil is enough. For heating control with a room thermostat, look at the BBoil-RF.
• WiFi signal: the controller must reach your home network. Check the signal where it will be installed, often on a roof, in a boiler room or in a storeroom.
• Compatibility: make sure the power of the heating element or device being controlled is within the controller's limits, as stated in its specifications.
• Connection: the controller is wired into the appliance's electrical circuit, so it should be installed by an electrician.
