Installation parts

A heating system only works properly when the smaller parts are right too: the chimney, the circulating pump, the valves, the expansion vessel, the controls. This category gathers the materials a plumber or homeowner needs for a new installation, a repair or routine maintenance: stainless steel chimneys and inox fittings, heating and plumbing fittings, circulating pumps, drainage pipes and fittings, ball valves, taps and bathroom fittings, aluminium air ducts and burner spare parts, from manufacturers such as Art Kamin, Danfoss, Siemens, Zilmet, Watts and Suntec.

How to choose

• Chimney: the diameter follows the appliance's flue outlet, not the other way round. Measure the length and the number of bends you need, and check that the material suits the fuel.
• Circulating pump: choose it by the flow rate and head the system requires. Electronic variable-speed circulators adjust to demand and use less electricity.
• Valves and pipes: keep the same thread and pipe size along the whole line, and use materials rated for hot water where needed.
• Expansion vessel: its size depends on the volume of water in the system. Domestic water needs its own type of vessel, separate from the heating one.
• Burner spare parts: nozzles, pumps, control boxes and photocells must match the burner model. Have the code of the old part or the burner model to hand.
