Rotating chimney cap

A rotating cowl turns on a spindle with the wind direction, so its opening always faces away from the wind. This keeps the wind from pushing smoke back down the chimney and helps keep the draught steady.

It is useful for houses on hills, near the sea or next to taller buildings, where a fireplace or stove smokes in windy weather. The rotating cowls are made by Art Kamin in stainless steel, in selected diameters. Check that the diameter matches your chimney.
