Description

Stainless steel, with a heat exchanger for the boiler.

The Mastersol BLVi1 is a vertical hot water cylinder with one removable heat exchanger of 1″ stainless steel pipe. It is double energy: the water is heated by the heat exchanger, connected for example to the central heating boiler, and by a 4 kW electric heating element, on request.

It is made entirely of stainless steel, inox 316L. The coils are made of 1″ stainless steel pipe. It also has a magnesium anode.

It stands upright and has ports for recirculation and for an immersion thermometer, a cleaning flange and a magnesium anode. The insulation is removable soft polyurethane, 100 mm thick, with a soft PVC jacket. It is meant for homes and businesses, from 1,500 to 9,000 litres.

According to the manufacturer's instructions, the warranty requires installation as shown in the diagrams, water within drinking water limits and regular checks of the anode. The magnesium anode is a consumable and is not covered.

Before installing

  • RoomIn a closed room protected from frost, with a floor drain for any leaks, as the manufacturer's instructions require.
  • DimensionsDimensions: height 3200 mm, diameter with insulation 2000 mm. Required room height 3773.6 mm: the diagonal of the tank, so it can be stood upright. The insulation is removable; without it, the diameter is 1800 mm.
  • WeightTank weight 1890 kg. Allow for the water it will hold when you choose where it goes.
  • Pressure and safetyMaximum working pressure 10 bar, maximum heat exchanger pressure 25 bar. A safety valve is mandatory, according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  • WaterThe mains water must be within drinking water limits; otherwise, according to the manufacturer, the cylinder is no longer under warranty.
  • ServiceThe magnesium anode is checked at least twice a year and replaced when it is used up. In suitable water it lasts about 2 years, but it may need replacing after 6 months. Cleaning is done through the flange, without chemicals.

What does "double energy" mean?

That the water is heated in two ways: by the heat exchanger, connected for example to the boiler, and by a 4 kW electric heating element, fitted on request. If you also want to connect solar collectors, you need a triple-energy cylinder with two heat exchangers.

Is the electric heating element included?

The 4 kW electric heating element is optional and fitted on request. You will find it in the product options.

Will it fit in my room?

The comparison shows the dimensions of each size. The manufacturer also gives the required room height: the diagonal of the tank, needed to stand it upright in place. The soft polyurethane insulation is removable; the comparison also shows the diameter without it.

Which size do I need?

It depends on how much hot water you use and on the heat source. The comparison also shows the heat exchanger surface of each size. Call us and we will work it out together.

What servicing does it need?

The magnesium anode is checked at least twice a year and replaced when it is used up. In suitable water it lasts about 2 years, but it may need replacing after 6 months. Cleaning is done through the flange, without chemicals.

Is it available with a larger heat exchanger or a metal casing?

Yes. According to the manufacturer it is also available with larger heat exchangers, with a heating surface of 5.4 m², and with a metal outer casing. Ask us for the price and delivery time.

What warranty does it have?

7 years, according to the manufacturer. It requires installation following the manufacturer's instructions, water within drinking water limits and regular checks of the magnesium anode, which is a consumable and is not covered.

How is it delivered?

Collect it from our shop in Patras, or we send it by carrier. The shipping cost shows in the cart; if it does not show for your area or size, call us for the delivery cost. A plumber installs it; we can suggest a partner in your area.
