When the boiler or plant room has a low ceiling, or when a very large amount of hot water is needed, a horizontal cylinder is often the only practical option. It lies on the floor or on supports and spreads its volume in length rather than height.
Mastersol horizontal cylinders come in two families: with standard removable heat exchangers, and with tank and heat exchangers in stainless steel. Each family includes models without a heat exchanger, with one or with two, depending on the heat sources to be connected. They are common in hotels, clinics and industrial premises.
