A fixed heat exchanger is a coil permanently welded inside the tank. The design is simple and economical and suits the sizes used in homes and small businesses. The cylinders in this category are protected inside with enamel (glass lining), which keeps the water clean and the tank safe from corrosion.

Choose a model without a heat exchanger if the water will be heated only by an electric element or an external heat exchanger, one with a single heat exchanger for one source (such as a boiler), or one with two for two sources (such as a boiler and solar collectors).
