Without Heat Exchangers
A horizontal cylinder without a heat exchanger has no coil: it works as a storage vessel that fills with hot water from another appliance or is heated by an electric element. The tank is steel, with epoxy protection inside and insulation around it to hold the temperature.
It is usually installed after a cylinder with heat exchangers or a plate heat exchanger, to increase the available volume at peak times, or where hot water is produced by an instantaneous heater. It suits plant rooms with low ceilings.
