Hot water
Domestic hot water can come from the sun, from electricity, from a central heating boiler or from a heat pump, and very often from a combination of them. This section covers everything a house, an apartment block or a business needs for hot water, from the rooftop solar water heater to large storage tanks for the boiler room. Most products are made by Mastersol, our own brand of solar systems, hot water cylinders and tanks, while the LPG instantaneous water heaters are by Riello.
What you will find
- Solar water heaters: the most common choice for homes, with the tank and collectors on the roof or terrace.
- Forced circulation solar systems: collectors on the roof and the tank indoors, for larger demand.
- Solar collectors: for new systems or as replacements.
- Cylinders: replacement tanks for solar water heaters and dual energy electric cylinders.
- Electric and instantaneous water heaters: where there is no access to the sun.
- Boiler room tanks: hot water cylinders, buffer tanks and tank-in-tank vessels for central systems.
How to choose
- People and habits: tank size follows daily hot water use, not the floor area of the house.
- Available space: a flat roof, a pitched roof or a boiler room tells you whether a thermosiphon or a forced circulation system fits.
- Second energy source: if you have a boiler or a heat pump, a triple energy model also uses your heating in winter.
- New or replacement: if the collectors are in good condition, a new cylinder may be all you need.
- Access to the sun: in a flat without roof access, an electric or instantaneous water heater is the practical answer.
