Heat pump Split
In a split heat pump the equipment is divided into two units: the outdoor unit extracts heat from the air and the indoor hydronic unit passes it to the heating water. The two units are connected by refrigerant lines.
Water stays inside the house, so there is no risk of it freezing in outdoor pipework, and the hydraulic components sit in the indoor unit, where they are easy to reach.
